In a commemorative event held in the courtyards of Shatt Al-Arab University, the Translation Department at the College of Arts celebrated the 105th anniversary of the founding of the valiant Iraqi Army, expressing pride in its glorious history and the sacrifices of its heroes in protecting the country's security and stability.
The event witnessed wide participation, including the Dean of the College of Arts, Assistant Professor Dr. Adel Malik Khanfar, and the Associate Dean for Scientific Affairs, Assistant Professor Dr. Aqeel Mohammed Jassim, along with department heads, faculty members, and a large number of students. All participants carried banners and Iraqi flags, expressing their national belonging and pride in the military institution as a symbol of sovereignty and national unity.
The Head of the Translation Department and Coordinator of the Student Activities Unit, Lecturer Mona Abdul Abbas Abdul Hassan, emphasized that this event reinforces the concepts of citizenship and social responsibility among students by celebrating national symbols, and affirms the role of the university and its students as a vital support for the armed forces in their national mission.
For her part, M.M. Mona Abdul Abbas, Head of the Translation Department, stated that the department's participation in this event embodies the heartfelt sentiments of translation students in honoring the sacrifices of the heroes of the Iraqi army and commemorating their historic role in protecting the country.
At the conclusion of the event, participants raised a banner that read: "A salute to the heroes of our valiant army on the 105th anniversary of its founding," expressing their pride in representing the university on this cherished national occasion.
The event was attended by 107 participants (51 males and 56 females).
